Once a tree has been cut down the remaining stump can become an eyesore, it can also prevent landscaping and installation of other features. Just because the tree has been chopped down it doesn’t mean it is dead, shoots often grow from the stump as the tree tries to re-grow, roots may continue to grow and spoil pathways or ornamental walls etc. Another problem with remaining tree stumps is Honey Fungus which can spread disease to other trees and plants in your garden.
Stump grinders accomplish their task by the repeated gradual sweeping of a multi-toothed high speed rotating cutting wheel. The rotating cutting wheel takes a sweep from one side to the other, each tooth rapidly tearing and stripping away small pieces of stump on each pass. After each sweep the cutting wheel is advanced deeper into the stump. This procedure is continuously repeated, under the precise control of the operator until the stump is satisfactorily removed.
The Operator's/Safety Manual for this machine will be provided to the customer during the rental period. The operator of the machine should read and understand the Operator's/Safety Manual before using the machine.
